Explore the Aurora of Arthur—an original automatic timepiece developed from the ground up through VALIMOR’s distinctive design language. Inspired by the enduring legend of King Arthur, its natural fumé mother-of-pearl dial, sword-inspired hands, shield-shaped hour markers and sculpted case inspired by dragon-scale armour were developed as one coherent design. Individually numbered and powered by a Japan-made automatic movement, it brings expressive ornamentation and everyday functionality together in a contemporary 40 mm mechanical watch.

Patented Design Inspired by Arthurian Symbolism
The case and crown take design cues from the silhouette of a gem-set sword hilt, while the bezel reinterprets the form of Kilgharrah — the dragon from Arthurian legend — into a simplified, geometric structure. This design not only reflects symbolic elements but also improves ergonomics when adjusting the time or bezel. This original case design was officially registered with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO Design Patent #008778161-0001).
Reliable Heartbeat – Open-Heart Automatic
The Aurora of Arthur collection is powered by the MIYOTA 82S7 automatic mechanical movement, known for its stability and durability. The rotor is enhanced with added weight for improved performance and is adorned with a 3D double-dragon engraving — a subtle reference to Arthurian legend. Through the exhibition case back, the open-heart design allows a clear view of the movement’s mechanics, combining reliable function with a touch of character.
Dark Fumé Mother-of-Pearl Dial
The dial design draws inspiration from Arthurian legend, featuring a dark-toned fumé mother-of-pearl base layered with multifaceted indexes. Built with a triple-layer structure, the dial combines subtle texture with visual depth. Luminescent hands and markers provide visibility in low light, with light and shadow working together to bring a quiet sense of character. The result is a dial that balances durability with understated detail.
Custom Medieval Typeface
To match the watch’s thematic roots, we developed a custom typeface for the bezel numerals, referencing medieval letterforms with upright, angular shapes. The result is a design element that supports the historical inspiration without compromising readability.
Sword-in-Stone Inspired Hands
The watch hands draw inspiration from the legendary sword motif and are produced using diamond-cut techniques. A semi-polished finish — with one side mirror-polished and the other brushed — helps create visual contrast against the dial. This approach supports better legibility under different lighting conditions, while retaining a subtle sense of depth.
316L Stainless Steel Bracelet
Crafted from durable 316L stainless steel, each solid link offers a balanced feel and dependable wear. The bracelet is equipped with a double push-button butterfly clasp for secure fastening and easy operation. A built-in quick-release mechanism allows for tool-free strap changes, offering flexibility in pairing with different looks.
Japanese NBR Rubber Strap
Developed in collaboration with artist Arkadiy Welesov, the strap features a Gothic-inspired motif referencing the “Sword in the Stone” legend. Made from Japanese NBR rubber, it offers comfort, water resistance, and long-term wear. A built-in quick-release system allows for easy strap changes — including switching to the dragon scale-patterned stainless steel bracelet — without the need for tools.
Vintage Italian Leather Strap
Crafted from Italian calf leather with a naturally aged finish, this strap is hand-stitched using contrasting thread and lined with soft beige nubuck for comfort. Each strap comes with a quick-release pin for easy, tool-free changes — allowing you to switch between styles as needed.
Swiss Super-LumiNova®
The Aurora of Arthur series uses Swiss Super-LumiNova® on the bezel markers, hour indexes, and hands to support visibility in low-light settings. The application also echoes the collection’s Arthurian theme in a quiet, functional way.
Sapphire Crystal with Anti-Glare Coating
The Aurora of Arthur series uses a synthetic sapphire crystal, shaped and polished for use as the watch glass. Made from pure alumina, it offers strong scratch resistance and maintains high transparency. A three-layer anti-reflective coating is applied to support readability in different lighting conditions.
