A Design Informed by Arthurian Legend — Now Patented in the EU
The stainless steel case draws subtle influence from the Arthurian tales, particularly the Great Dragon Kilgharrah and the Sword of Kings. Combining traditional metal-finishing techniques with a contemporary silhouette, the case features a blend of brushed and polished surfaces that shift with the light. Details like the gemstone-set crown, a sword-hilt–inspired side profile, and a dragon-scale–shaped bezel were developed with both aesthetics and ergonomics in mind. The use of sapphire crystal adds durability without compromising clarity. This case design has been officially granted a European Union design patent (No. 008778161-0001), covering all 27 EU countries.
Sixty Hour Automatic Movement
The Kilgharrah watch is powered by the reliable Miyota Cal. 8315 automatic movement from Japan, offering up to 60 hours of power reserve — a notable upgrade from many standard movements in its range. The use of anti-corrosion blue screws supports long-term durability. On the caseback, the rotor features a twin dragon motif inspired by the Sword of Kings from Arthurian legend — a quiet nod to the watch’s storytelling roots and symbolic heritage.
Dial with Character and Craft
The dial is shaped through a detailed process of layering and polishing to achieve its dimensional dragon scale pattern and symbolic motifs. Hour markers draw inspiration from medieval forms, with custom typography developed in-house to echo the bold, angular style of the period. Hands and numerals are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® to ensure visibility in low light, adding a quiet reference to the mythic moment of the Sword in the Stone.
Watch Hands Inspired by the Sword in the Stone
Taking cues from the iconic blade of Arthurian legend, the hands are shaped using diamond-cutting techniques to achieve clean, defined lines. One side is polished, while the other features a brushed finish, creating subtle contrast and texture under varying light. For nighttime visibility, the hands are coated with Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9, offering a soft blue glow — a quiet nod to the sword’s mythical presence in the story.
Japanese NBR Rubber Strap
This comfortable rubber strap, made from Japanese NBR material, was developed with inspiration from the Sword in the Stone legend and designed in collaboration with Viking totem artist Arkadiy Welesov. Durable, water-resistant, and soft on the wrist, it offers a practical alternative to metal bracelets. Thanks to its built-in quick-release system, switching between this and our stainless steel dragon scale bracelet is simple and tool-free.
